How to choose a Montessori Training Course Online?

If you`re considering becoming a Montessori tutor, you may wonder where to begin. The choices are completely endless, so you still have a lot of questions. In this article, we have tried to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about Montessori training online programs. Let`s begin with fundamentals.

Here are some questions and their answers related to the characteristics of the Montessori method of education

1. Which age groups are served in Montessori training institutes?

Ans. The most famous is the early childhood stage, between the ages of 21⁄2-6. Many schools offer an elementary age level from the ages of 6-9 and/or 9-12 and/or an Infant-Toddler curriculum (6 weeks-3 years).

2. Do I need a Montessori certificate to teach?

Ans. Once their certified Early Childhood course is completed, full-certification students are given a certificate that entitles them to teach children aged 21⁄2-6. In some Montessori schools, holders of a diploma degree can also instruct.

3. How do I know if a teacher-training program is accredited?

Ans. Many programs are accredited by the International Montessori Council (IMC) and the International Montessori Society (IMS). IMC-accredited programs must meet strict requirements. Check their official websites to know about rules and regulations.

4. How much time will it take to get a Montessori training course online?

Ans. Plan on it taking about 15 months to complete coursework, residential hours, internships, and exams for a post-graduation degree in Montessori training online. Of course, this time frame can be shorter on how much time you can commit to your training on a weekly or monthly basis. On average, expect to spend about 10-15 hours per week. The diploma course certificate can be achieved in as little as four months.

5. What about location and scheduling? Are there any good distance-learning programs?

Ans. This is a big issue for many. Not everyone happens to live within driving distance from a quality Montessori training center. Still, others have full-time jobs or families as part of the equation. AGTTC offers a fully online program module. There is never any travel required, and you can study at any time of the day that works for you. You can also do training in person in the institute of our affiliation with over 30 centers in India.

6. Who are Montessori trainers? What are their backgrounds?

Ans. Look for trainers with experience both as Montessori teachers and as Montessori teacher trainers. Also, check out the training staff’s philosophy. Are they true to Montessori’s original theories and ideas or are they influenced heavily by other educational methods? Read as much as you can about the staff and ask questions. If possible, watch their videos and/or webinars. Get to know them. Remember, these are the people who will be guiding you along a very important journey!

7. What are the details of the Montessori training course online?

Ans. Of course, this response can vary from program to program, but you can assume approximately the following minimum:

  • Coursework to master the basics of the Montessori System (in class or online)
  • In-person experience with classroom materials
  • Internship
  • Exams
  • Will I need to do an internship?

"After I started learning design with Quillow, I realized that I had improved to very advanced levels. - Chris Collins

Well. it doesn't require an internship. Check for institutes offering certificates without a mandatory internship.

Don`t be afraid to ask questions before all else. Visit local schools in Montessori, and speak to staff. Contact them when you consider a curriculum that you are interested in and present yourself. Tell them about their history, software, and theory.

Get a feel for what it is like with this software. Will they make you feel like a list or are they personable? Is it impossible to converse with a real person? What kind of support is there for web services, in particular? What do earlier students say about the program? How easy or difficult is it to find answers to questions?

After all, if the admissions process is difficult to navigate, what will the course be like?
